On September 19, 2023, Patty Clark, loving wife, mother and grandmother was called to heaven at the age of 82. Patty passed away peacefully at 2:22 pm at St Dominic Hospital with family and friends at her side. Patty graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 1958. She married the late Bartlett Buford Clark in 1962 in Jackson, Mississippi where they lived together for 56 years.
Patty is survived by her three children: Tracey Gavin (Brian), of South Riding, VA; Rusty Clark (Evie) of Ridgeland, MS; and Andy Clark (Debra), of Parker, CO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christopher, Chandler, Camille and Cayden Gavin; Ben (Sarah), Emily and Caroline Clark; and Olivia and Alex Clark; she is also survived by her sister, Carol Goulet (Duane Fouraker) of Houston, TX. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jimmy Lou Goulet of Jackson.
Patty truly believed in being the hands and feet of Christ with her gift of a servant’s heart. She was an immense prayer warrior. Her children and grandchildren reliably called on “Granny” when they needed God’s guiding hand or peace about an upcoming decision. She will always be remembered for her steadfast faith and love of Jesus.
Throughout her life Patty was blessed to have been an active part of three church families: St. James, St. Phillips and Holy Trinity. She also volunteered with Stewpot Community Services, Kairos Prison Ministries and Book Buddies with Jackson Public Schools. She was instrumental in founding HOA’s in both neighborhoods where she lived and served as President of each.
Patty will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness to both friends and family, always putting other’s needs before her own. Her special talent was finding the most off the wall, yet “how did I live without that?” Christmas presents. If you knew Patty, you know how much she enjoyed decorating her home during the holidays and making it as special as possible for those around her.
She loved playing bridge with friends and card games with family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and sharing her handmade treasures with all.
Patty was a fantastic cook. This was one of her greatest expressions of love. From big spreads of amazing dishes during holidays to the standard weeknight meal, you could always expect Patty to provide a wonderful dining experience.
Patty was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her family and friends and cherished every moment with them. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
