Obituary for Patricia Katherine Smith

Patricia “Patsy” Katherine Smith, 84, of Jackson, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Patricia was born October 20, 1938, in South Carolina to Overton Harrington and Katherine Nealy Harrington. Patricia was a

graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She worked for St. Dominic

Hospital in Jackson, MS, in the laboratory for 35 years.

Patricia loved her two children, Kate and Will, and would talk people’s ears off about how proud she was of them. She was the

best mother in the world, and she will be missed. She loved God and knew that heaven would be waiting for her when she was

called home by her Savior. Patsy loved college and NFL football and could pick a winner better than anyone who loved the game.

Kate and Will would like to thank the devoted sitters who assisted with their mom during her time of need, especially Debra

Lindsay. Kate and Will also want to thank the team at Enhabit Hospice. Dr. Joe Terry had been so loyal to mom over all the years

and we want to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Terry and his staff for all the love and compassion they showed mom.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Thomas Overton Harrington. She is survived by her daughter Kate Smith

of Dallas, Texas and her son Will Smith of Jackson, MS.
