Obituary for Patricia Ballentine
Patricia Carol Ballentine, 70, passed away Saturday January 12th surrounded by her family at her home in Ridgeland, MS. Patricia was born to the late Ervin L. and Willie Mathews Green on December 17th, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting that she earned from Chicago State University. Patricia moved to Ridgeland seven years ago to enjoy her retirement with her two friends, Deloris and Velma. Moving from Chicago, retiring from the Chicago Police Department, she wanted the perfect location “to be in the city- but not in the city, and to be in the country- but not in the country” and she found that in the land she purchased here in Ridgeland. Prior to the police department, she worked as a pension plan consultant, where she designed and administered private pension plans. Patricia was an avid gardener who enjoyed the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed garden walks throughout the metro area. After her retirement, Pat worked part-time at Home Goods where she touched the lives of everyone she met. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sister- Emma Jean Moore; brother- Donald Green; and her godfather- Ruzich Richmond. She is survived by her daughter- Sonya Ballentine from Chicago, Il; brother- Ervin L. (Catherine) Green, Jr. from Chicago, Il; two nieces- Diana Moore and Nicole Evans; nephew- Andre Moore. In lieu of flowers please give to the American Cancer Society or St. Francis of Assisi in Madison. MS.
