Obituary for Nancy Jewel Powell Phillips
Nancy Jewel Powell Phillips, 55, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00am at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 5950 Terry Road, Byram, Mississippi.
Mrs. Phillips was born on December 15, 1962 in Philipp, Mississippi. She began her education at Pillow Academy and later earned her Bachelor’s degree at Mississippi College. She was an assistant teacher working with students in special education. Nancy loved God, scary movies, was a fan of The Walking Dead television series, reading, painting and drawing. She most enjoyed spending time with family and celebrating Christmas Eve! She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association.)
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Wallace Powell and Jewel Dean Black Powell, and her husband of 14 years, Albert Glen Ashmore.
Survivors include her husband, Randell Phillips; 3 children, Chris Phillips and his wife Savanna, Megan Bynog and her husband Tim, and Allison Phillips, all of Byram Mississippi; 8 grandchildren, Christian, Kadence, Jacob, and Paisley Phillips; Adyson, and Kolton Bynog; Samantha Burt, all of Byram, Mississippi, and Ian Ledford of Jackson Mississippi.
