Obituary for Mike E. Fitzhugh
Mike E. Fitzhugh, 55, died June 16, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm. Monday, June 20, 2022, at Star Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. graveside service will immediately follow at Star Baptist Church Cemetery..
Mike was born on October 22, 1966, in Hinds County, the son of Fred and Brenda Fitzhugh. He worked as an electrician for over 30 years and was a member of the IBEW40. An avid bowler, Mike was a member of the Rankin Rollers and participated on many teams and leagues. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.
Above all Mike cherished spending time with his family. He will most be remembered as a beloved husband and son, a devoted father and a cherished grandfather. He was a member of Star Baptist Church.
Mike is preceded in death by a son, Edward Allen Fitzhugh, mother, Brenda Fitzhugh ,mother-in-law, Bessie Harrison and brother-in-law, Danny Harrison.
He is survived by his wife Debra Fitzhugh of Braxton; son, Michael Fitzhugh and his wife, CJ of Brandon; son, Chris Fitzhugh and his wife, Elizabeth of Mendenhall; grandchildren, James Michael Elam, Eli Fitzhugh, Addie Lynn Fitzhugh, Aubree Fitzhugh, Colton Fitzhugh, and Ana Fitzhugh; father, Fred Fitzhugh of Florence; sister, Michelle Fitzhugh Moore and her husband Danny of Florence.
