Obituary for Michael Thomas Pezzetti
Michael Thomas Pezzetti died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was 78.
A native of Detroit, Michigan and born on August 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Lombardi and Catherine Cruciano Pezzetti.
Mr. Pezzetti proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps having been honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His family fondly remembers his zest for life from their trip to Walt Disney World, where he rode every ride, to entertaining at special events including Halloween and Christmas. He spent much time along the Detroit River helping with 4th of July fireworks every year and watching the Big Rig Parade in Mackinaw, Michigan. He served as Night Watchman for church camp, enjoyed making a variety of candies and cookies to give away, and always put up too many outdoor Christmas lights . . . many fond memories that his family shall cherish forever.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary, Pauline, and Theresa; and a brother, Joe Peters.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara J. Pezzetti; sons, Stephen E. Pezzetti (Karen) and Mike Pezzetti (Stacey); grandsons, Brandon Pezzetti and Alex Pezzetti.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Sebrell Funeral Home.
