Mary McGraw Coleman passed away December 28, 2022 at St. Catherine’s Village, in the Hughes Center, Madison, MS. She was 98 years old.
Mary was born August 11, 1924, in Paris, TX to the late Henry T. and Annie E. McGraw. Mary grew up, as an only child, living in Paris, TX. In 1940, she and her parents moved to Inverness, MS, where Mary graduated from Inverness High School in 1942. After graduating, Mary moved to Jackson, MS, where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Charles H. Coleman, who preceded her in death in 2005. Mary had a very long career in Information Technology at the MS Department of Employment Security, where she retired working in management in 1983. Mary and Charles spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying their grandchildren. Mary’s family was her life. She was an extraordinarily caring and loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and will be missed, beyond words. Mary was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise Jones (James) of Madison, MS and Melisa Horne (Willie) of Ridgeland, MS, two grandsons, Derek Hickman of Marietta, GA and Christopher Hickman (Emily), great grandchildren Arabella and Bryce, all of Gulf Breeze, FL
Graveside services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, MS, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with Josh Kidd, Minister, Madison Church of Christ, officiating.
