Mary Louise Oberhousen Butts Raymond, Mississippi
Mary Louise Oberhousen, 98, died peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Woodland Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Clinton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Raymond followed by burial at Raymond Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Louise was born on June 17, 1920, in Flora, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Lora A. Axton and Myrtle Keys Axton. A long time resident of Raymond, she was a well known and beloved business owner of Oberhousen Café and Lucy’s Dress Shop, serving over 50 years in business in Raymond.
Lucy loved people and people loved her. She cherished spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Raymond. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family & friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Oberhousen & Frank J. Butts, her granddaughter, Sherri L. Smith and three brothers, Richard, Elmer and Phibert Axton, and her son-in-law, Loyd Flanagan.
Survivors include daughters, Louise Flanagan of Raymond; Patsy O. Smith (Odie) of Raymond; grandchildren, Debra Ball (Mark) of Raymond, Bill Flanagan (Sherry) of Pearl; Steve Flanagan (Julie) of Spring, TX and David W. Smith (Laurie) of Florence. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
