Obituary for Mary Johnson Todd
Mary Johnson Todd, 97, died peacefully August 31st, 2017. She was the daughter of Millsaps and Loulie Johnson, Harriston, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George P. Todd, brother, J.M. (Jack) Johnson, Jr. sister, Eleanor Corban and brother – in – law, A.M. (Bo) Todd, III. She is survived by daughters Mary Buchanan (Dale), Melinda Presher (Dave), son Paxton Todd (Krystal) ; sister- in – law, Joyce Jurik; grandchildren, Mike Buchanan (Robin), Marci Kinchen, Ashley Vernon (Chris), Julie Tchvidjian, Miller Todd (Katie), John Todd (Chloe), Laura Martin (Logan); great – grandchildren Haley Etheridge, Mallory Buchanan, Taylor Buchanan, Nathan Kinchen (Amber), Tori George (Cecil), Ally Vernon, Caleb Vernon, Anna Vernon, Riley Tchvidjian, Lily Tchvidjian and Ruby Tchvidjian; great- great grandchildren, Kayden and Hadley George, Ryleigh Russell, Avery Kinchen, Madison, James, Mollie, Mary (namesake) Todd, niece Jackie Owens, nephew, Bob Corban and many more nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was active in her church from childhood through her entire adulthood until her illness. A truly caring people person, she ministered to family, friends, the homebound and lonely in her own tireless and unique, thoughtful and cheerful ways. Bible study, bridge and baking were also her passions. After graduation from Jackson Commercial College, she worked for many years as a stenographer in law offices and secretary in the Jackson Zoning and Permit Department from which she retired. The family would like to thank the Atwood Personal Care Angels who took loving untiring care of her the last years of her life. Visitation is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 with services following at 3:30 p.m. at Sebrell Funeral Home, with interment following at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.
