Obituary for Mary Edith Lyons Farmer
Mary Edith Lyons Farmer, of Raymond, passed away on November 1, 2018. She was 86.
A native of Hermanville, Mississippi, born December 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late J.B. and Velma Pearl Freeman Lyons. She was raised in the church and was a very active Mother involved in Girl Scouts and served as a Den Mother in Boy Scouts. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mrs. Farmer was a Registered Nurse and retired from the VA Medical Center following many years of nursing service. She was a graduate of Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida receiving her Associate Degree in Nursing.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Farmer, Jr., of Raymond; children: son, John Farmer III, of Picayune; daughter, Judy Young (Dale), of Raymond; son, Joseph E. Farmer, of Mobile, AL; daughter, Janice Langley (Mitchell), of Bolton; brothers: Sherwood Lyons, John Robert Lyons, and Larry James Lyons; sisters, Virginia Ann Lobred and Margaret Annette King; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
