Obituary for Mary June T Mosley
June Taylor Mosley passed away on October 15, 2021 two weeks shy of her 97th birthday. June was born on October 31, 1924 in Winston County MS to Geneva and Leo Taylor. June grew up in Philadelphia MS and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Mississippi. June was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse I. Mosley, her parents Leo and Geneva and her sister Joanne. June is survived by her children, Bob (wife Patti), Nancy (husband Joe), Bill and Carol (husband Bill), two grandchildren (Brett, wife Kristi and Griffin), two great grandchildren (Parks and Mary Liza), three nieces and a cousin. June taught elementary school for a while and then substitute taught while her children were in school. Following the death of her husband in 1975, June went to work at the Mississippi Employment Security Commission in Jackson and then subsequently retired in 1991. June was an avid reader using her Kindle and researched her books online with her personal computer. June loved to work in her yard, and as she aged was saddened that she was no longer able to do so. More than anything, June loved and supported her children. To June there was nothing more important than her children. June was a longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church and then followed by Briarwood Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Wednesday October 20 at 11:00am and officiated by her pastor, Reverend Charles Bowdler. The pallbearers will be Bob Mosley, Bill Mosley, Brett Mosley, Mike Keeffe, Donnie Shepherd and Walt Fagan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Briarwood Presbyterian Church, 620 Briarwood Drive, Jackson MS 39211
