Obituary for Martin John Bisek
Martin John Bisek 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13th, 2021. He was surrounded by Family and departed peacefully. He was born in Iowa on October 29th,1948, but he always called Paris,Texas his home. Mart was a graduate of Texas A&M, however he pledged loyalty to Mississippi State University when he moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1976. Mart established himself in the community and enjoyed many years as a business owner.
Mart was a wonderful husband, loving father, loyal friend, a fierce card player and an avid sportsman who devoted his time to the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, but loved fishing. Mart was a master in the art of setting the hook and one of the best at giving his fishing partner no place to fish. Mart was a great storyteller who could hold ‘court’ for hours with elaborate tales that may have been a bit exaggerated. He fancied himself somewhat of a gourmet chef.
Mart knew he was a Son of God and devoted his life to God’s calling on his heart. He was called to be a “Beacon of Light.” He was the CEO and longtime volunteer at Gleaners Inc. Mart was proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus. He was Grand Knight of council 10216 as well as State District Deputy. Mart was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Brandon, Mississippi for many years, as well as being an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, Mississippi.
Mart is survived by his wife of 46 years Ginger Bisek, their children Kelly (Todd) Therrell, Casey (Brandye) Bisek, his grandchildren Kirsten (Matt) Hepp, Jacob Jacks, Aiden Bisek, Kate Therrell, Grayson Therrell, and his loving companion Sassy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mart’s memory to Gleaners, Inc. PO Box 9883 Jackson, Mississippi 39286.
A memorial service will be held in Gluckstadt, Mississippi at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, December 16th: visitation 11:30, rosary 12:30, service follows at 1:00 pm
