Obituary for Martha Karow Taylor
Martha Karow Taylor, 76, died December 25, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Taylor was born on October 16, 1945 in Jackson, the daughter of the late, Armand and Eunice Karow. A graduate of Provine High School, she continued her education attending Memphis State University for two years when she married her husband Jerry.
Mrs. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and began her career in education with JPS, first as a teacher and later as a librarian. She was a faithful member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be most remembered as a beloved wife, a cherished mother, and a treasured grandmother; she will also be remembered for always giving of her whole self to her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Armand Munford Karow; mother, Eunice Durham Karow; and a brother, Dr. Armand Durham Karow, Jr.
Survivors include: her husband, Jerry P. Taylor of Jackson, MS; daughter, Sheryl Elizabeth Taylor of Brandon, MS; daughter, Marcie Taylor Stewart and her husband, Dr. Bradley Stewart of Olive Branch, MS; son, Jay P. Taylor, Jr. of Jackson; MS; grandchildren, Christian Blake Tucker ,Kaitlin Taylor Stewart, Riley Elizabeth Stewart and her loving canine companion, Molly.
