Obituary for Margaret J. Woods
Margaret J. Woods 86, of Brandon, MS was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 8, 2020. She had been a patient at Mississippi Baptist Hospital. Graveside service will be Friday December 11 at 1:00 at the pavilion located at the front entrance of Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Margaret was born on January 20. 1934 in Jasper AL. She was the daughter of the late Giles M. and Mamie Lockhart Jones. Margaret graduated from Central High School in Jackson. Margaret married Robert L. Woods and they resided in Gardner, MA for many years before retiring to Brandon, MS. She was employed as an Executive Secretary before retiring. She had been a resident of Beau Ridge Independent Living and Ridgeland Place for several years where she made wonderful friendships. She was an avid bridge player and member of several local bridge clubs where she met her dear friend Lillian who shared her love for the game of bridge. Margaret enjoyed entertaining in her home. She was a delightful host who would decorate for every season and holiday to make her home warm and loving. She loved family and friends and always enjoyed having them in her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert L Woods, sister, Virginia Alice Jones and four brothers, Howard Jones, Willie Mont Jones, Bennie Jones, and W.O. Jones. She is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Beth Haggerty and the staff of Ridgeland Place and Nichol’s Center for the love and care they gave her. Bro Matthew Spencer will officiate the service.
