Obituary for Lynn Mahlum
Lynn Mahlum, a resident of Ridgeland, Mississippi, since early 1990’s, passed away December 28, 2020.
Lynn was 83, and was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence and his wife, Dorothy. He is survived by
his brother, David Mahlum who lives in Solana Beach, California.
Lynn was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota.
Lynn was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and attended the University of Koln, Germany. After college,
He served in the US Army Security Agency as a Russian/German linguist in West Germany.
After serving in the army, he attended law school in Minneapolis. He later worked for Aetna Insurance
for the rest of his career as a senior property insurance underwriter.
Lynn loved sailing and kept a sailboat until Hurricane Katrina destroyed his boat. He was a member of
The Jackson Yacht Club, and the Jackson French Club.
He will be remembered by all of us who knew him and loved him.
