Obituary for Lynn Kroeze Herlihy
Lynn Kroeze Herlihy passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her residence in Jackson. She was 67.
A native of California and born on September 3, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Carolyn Holman Kroeze.
We remember Lynn as a sunny personality, someone who was sweet natured, soft spoken, and kind. She loved young children. From her first job as a lower school teacher in New Orleans to later studies in social work, Lynn was a nurturer.
Her creative spirit came through in many ways. She loved to paint, and with her artist’s eye she decorated her home with timeless southern charm. Although Lynn enjoyed taking cooking classes, cooking was not her natural forte. It has been said that her idea of home cooking was room service!
Many opportunities were presented to Lynn, and her lifestyle and fashion sense showed that she appreciated them. A love of travel led her often to the beach, where she welcomed family and friends. Memories linger of special sunny days and relaxing evenings on her balcony.
Lynn’s son Andrew was the love of her life, and he knew it.
She is survived by her son, John Andrew Herlihy (Xyrah), of Dallas, TX; brothers, Judson Kroeze (Gunuyar), of Madison and David Michael McCoy (Carol), of Cantonment, FL; stepmother, Barbara Kroeze, of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in the Pavilion located at the front entrance of Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd.
