Obituary for Louise Jefcoat Child
Louise Jefcoat Child, 86, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

A native of Parchman, MS, she was born July 31, 1931, the daughter of the late Homer and Velma Walker Jefcoat. She attended Drew High School before moving and residing in California for 20 years. Returning to Greenwood where she resided for over 45 years, she was known as an avid gardener having won “Yard of the Year.” Above all, she loved her family and pets.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernal O. Child, in 2009; and her brothers, LeRoy (Roy) Jefcoat and Joseph Walker.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Child Andrews, and her husband, Robert, of Terry; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 in Indianola City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Ministries for the love and care they provided to Mrs. Child and their family.
