Obituary for Logan Davis Gibbs
Logan Davis Gibbs, 18, died on Monday, December 31, 2018 following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Newton, born January 8, 2000, he was the son of Robyn Voyles Gibbs and Darrell Davis Gibbs. Logan lived in Ridgeland most of his life and attended Ridgeland High School where he played football and baseball. He was a graduate of the Jobs For Youth program. Logan loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He found peace in the solace of the woods. Logan was a gifted artist – extremely talented in drawing, sketching and painting. Logan loved all sports and his music. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. His ability to light up a room and make people feel special was unmatched. Logan was a polite young man with a big heart and strong will. He never met a stranger. He was a wonderful and loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. He will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gene “Red” Gibbs and Tommy Voyles. He is survived by his mother, Robyn Voyles Gibbs, of Ridgeland; father, Darrell Davis Gibbs (Gina), of Crystal Springs; sisters, Madison Gibbs, of Jackson and Maggie Mae Gibbs, of Ridgeland; maternal grandmother, Terri Jones; paternal grandmother, Carol Sue Gibbs, both of Ridgeland; maternal great grandmother, Billie Greer Higgins, of Byhalia; Mike Gibbs (Kathy), of Brandon; his girlfriend, Hailee Bryant, of Ridgeland; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison with Rev. Greg O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Jessamine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
