Obituary for Linda Germaine Reaves
Linda Germaine Reaves Jackson
Linda Germaine Reaves, 89, died Friday, October 15, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 18, 2021, at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Reaves was born on May 30, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland; she was a longtime resident of Jackson. Mrs. Reaves graduated in 1950 from Central High School and shortly thereafter married her husband, Ray Reaves. In 1971, Mrs. Reaves began working in Legislative Services for the Mississippi State Senate. Mrs. Reaves was recently honored by the Senate for her 50 years of service.
Mrs. Reaves enjoyed working in the garden and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Mrs. Reaves is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reaves; son, Larry Reaves and mother, Mary Eloise Lancaster Germaine.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Thomas (Jerry) of Raymond; grandson, Jeff Thomas (Lacy) of Terry; granddaughter, Kristi Pierce (Preston) of Richland; granddaughter, Jennifer Fant (Justin) of Brandon; great grandchildren, Samantha, Chance and Taylor Pierce, Lane and Ashton Mims; Trey Kelly, Brennan and Reaves Thomas; Zoey Fant; 5 great-great grandchildren, sister-law, Doris Watkins of Atlanta; brother-in-law, David Reaves (Betty Lynn) of Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.
