Obituary for Lester Currie Yarbrough
Lester Currie Yarbrough, 82, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 28th, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM on Friday, September 1st, 2017 until the 2:00PM Funeral Service at Polkville United Pentecostal Church, 1487 SCR 538 (Smith County Road), Morton, Mississippi. Interment will immediately follow the service at Piney Grove Cemetery, SCR 538 E. (Smith County Road), Polkville, Mississippi. Mr. Yarbrough and his wife lived in Texas for many years before moving back home to Mississippi and settling in Polkville. Lester loved his church and he was a faithful servant to God and his church. He was known for his ability to love everyone he met and he refrained from judgment. He was always the first person to appear when any crisis occurred among anyone he cared for. He was a loyal friend; dedicated family man who kept things light and simple. He was a brave and kind man who always offered support to anyone in need. He kept a garden and tended to it every day. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Sylvester Yarbrough and Mary Walley Yarbrough; brothers, J.C. Yarbrough and Junior Yarbrough; sisters, Shirley Russell and Joanne Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosa M. Yarbrough; sons, James Yarbrough and wife, Doris, Currie Yarbrough, Jeff Yarbrough all of Polkville, MS, and Terry Yarbrough of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Carolyn Dunn and husband, Roy of Philadelphia, MS and Eva June Watkins and husband, Buddy of Newton, MS; brothers-in-law, Bartley Adcox and wife, Martha and Norman Adcox and wife, Dartha, all of White Oak, MS; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Lingel of Morton, MS; also many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a loving host of nieces, nephews and many treasured friends.
