Obituary for Lavera Mullen Clark

Lavera Mullen Clark, 92, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Highland Home in Ridgeland. A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at First Baptist of Flora with a graveside following at 2:00 p.m. at Flora Cemetery.


She was born on September 25, 1930, in Phillip, Mississippi, to the late Vernon and Rosalie Mullen. In her younger years, Mrs. Clark enjoyed walking and sitting on her porch. She also loved to cook. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Flora, where she taught Sunday school for many years and worked in the nursery. Mrs. Clark was a member of a prayer group that was very special to her. They met every Tuesday at her friend Virginia Giddy’s Home.


She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Mrs. Clark enjoyed crossstitching and quilting.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Rosalie Mullen, daughter, Patricia Clark, her 5 brothers and 2 sisters.


She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Clark Creel (Kenny) of Flora and Sherry Clark

Herndon ( Fred) Bella Vista, AR; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild and sister, Terry Brown of Jackson, MS.
