Obituary for Laura Fay Blaine Carr
Laura Fay Blaine Carr, 98, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday and 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Carr was born on August 15, 1918, in Ethel, MS, the daughter of the late William and Hattie Blaine. A loving wife and mother, she had a successful career working as a sales representative for many companies. Mrs. Carr was an excellent cook, avid gardener of flowers and vegetables and she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. A self taught musician, she played the piano by ear. Mrs. Carr used this gift to minister to residents of nursing homes and numerous prisons. She loved the Lord and ministered and witnessed to everyone she met. Fay Carr was truly blessed and will be forever cherished by her family and the lives she touched. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Albert Carr; daughter, Brenda Gail Whitley; grandchild, Casey Raymond Carr; great grandchild, Treyton Kesner; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: children, Carol Gilbert Meek (Charles) of Pascagoula; Jo Ann Byrd (Glen) of Jackson; Linda Carr Baker of Pascagoula; Clarence Raymond Carr (Mai) of Southaven; Charles Stephen Carr of Jackson; William Wayne Carr (Barbara) of Mt. Juliet, TN; Mary Lynn Rogers (Mike) of Rockwall, TX; 21 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 25 great- great grandchildren and brother, Willie "Mac" Blaine (Carol) of McCool, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
