Obituary for Kenneth Anthony Bailey, Sr.
Kenneth Anthony Bailey Sr., died Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 at peacefully at home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Venue at Pinelake Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday in the Venue.
Mr. Bailey was born on August 4th, 1936, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of the late Clarence Bailey and Willlimina Bougerios.
A graduate of Catholic High School, he was a standout member of the football team where he played offensive and defensive guard. He continued his education at Southeastern University, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration and continued to excel on and off the football field playing offensive and defensive guard. After graduation, he was drafted to the US Army, where he played football in Germany. After serving his country honorably, he accepted a position to LA National Bank starting out as teller, working his way to loan officer then branch manager. In 1980, he moved to Donaldsonville, LA where he became President of State Bank and Trust. He retired in 2000 then moved to Flowood, MS in 2006.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing at the Riverdale Country Club Pelican Point Golf Club. He enjoyed hunting, but most all enjoyed cherished his family, and enjoyed sending time with them.
He is survived by his spouse Vivian Bailey (Kenneth) of Flowood, MS; three children, Kenneth A. Bailey. Jr., (Melissa) of Flowood, MS, Lori Bailey Thompson (Mike) of Austin, TX, and Dione Bailey Booker (John) of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Jacob Thompson , Seth Bailey, Will Bailey, Jett Booker, Jene Booker, Cannon Booker, and; and one brother, Clarence Bailey of Baton Rouge, LA.; and loving girls, Lelia and Emma Kate Davis.
He is preceded in death by brother, William Bailey; and sisters, Sylvia Eppinette, and Willlimina Browning.
