Obituary for Kathy Jo Whitesides

Kathy J. Whitesides, 74, left her Earthly home peacefully, Monday, October 3, 2022 surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following at Spring Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sebrell Funeral in Ridgeland.


Mrs. Whitesides was born on January 29, 1948, in Jackson, Mississippi; the daughter of the late Joe Martin and Sue Harvey. A follower of the Lord, she attended Griffin Memorial Baptist Church. Her life revolved around her family and will most be remembered as devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Whitesides enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and home décor projects.


Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Greg and Ronnie Harvey and her husband, Terry and son, Alan.


Survivors include: son, Joey Cooper (Beth) of Crystal Springs; daughter, Sharon Irwin(Rob) of Columbus; son, Rob Whitesides of Tupelo; grandchildren, Andrew Cooper, Cooper Irwin, Chelsea Rushing, Matilyn Irwin; James Spears, Riley Irwin; Dylan Rankin; Summer Whitesides great grandchildren, Ava, Avery, Beckham, Gage, Shirley, Ann, Waylen, Wyatt; sisters Carolyn Jones (Johnny), Brenda Walters (Mike) Susan Bass (Derrel) and many other friends and family.
