Obituary for Julius Samuel McCay
Julius S. McCay passed away August 7th, 2021 in Jackson, MS. He was 97 years old. Julius was born on April 4, 1924 to the late Julius and Kitty Tadlock McCay in Cleveland, AL. He was an active long-time member of Center Terrence Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Julius was a Master Mason and Shriners member, his dedication to serving others was unparallel. He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Julius Smith McCay and Kittie Elvira Tadlock; the mother of his two daughters Thelma J. McCay; the mother of his stepdaughter Betty H. McCay; his sisters Lillie Belle Hill, Vera Nell Bullard, Gladys Vaughn, and Dorothy Hill. Julius is survived by his wife, Henrietta, two daughters, Faye Wallace and Helen Gunn (Warren); a stepson, Derrel Palmer (Melinda); two stepdaughters Charity Allen and Debbie Arrington (Lee); fourteen grandchildren, Sammy Wallace, Jon Wallace (Lauran), Kasey Cagle, Josh Fischer, Tori Eaves (Michael), Mason Allen, John McPherson (Whitney), Wes McPherson (Lyndi), Josh McPherson (Channing), Preston Arrington (Amy), Courtney Dunstan (Tyler), Jennifer Freeman (Ben), Kristina Bennett (Brian), and Matthew Collins; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dennis Hooper, Steve Hooper, Jon Wallace, Charlie Evans, David Boyd, and Warren Gunn. The funeral services will be Monday August 9, 2021 at Sebrell Funeral Home at 11 AM with burial immediately following at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd. Jackson, MS. Visitation begins at 10 AM. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research for Children.
