Obituary for Johnie W. Deaton
Johnie W. Deaton passed away July 23, 2020 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab in Pearl, MS. She was 88. Johnie was born on January 19th, 1932 in Vernon, AL to the late Alvi and Quilie Snow Jordan. She had an innate gift of making things grow, “A Green Thumb”, and enjoyed being outdoors in her garden. Johnie had an adventurous spirit and was always on the go; in her younger years, she was constantly traveling with her friends and her family. She enjoyed many trips and beautiful gardens, and watching the birds, especially red birds; most of all she enjoyed being with her family whom she loved dearly. Johnie is a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
Johnie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elie Hugh and Wayne Jordan; sister, Inez Chandler.
She is survived by her son, Gary Cosby (Rhonda) of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Luke and Haley Cosby of Brandon, MS; brother, Hoyte Jordan (Shirley) of Amory, MS; sister, Faye Jordan of Lake Charles, LA.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 26th, 2020 at noon at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd with Reverend Dale Reese officiating and Tony King assisting, the visitation will be at Sebrell Funeral Home from 10:30 until 11:30.
