Obituary for John Robert Barnette
John Robert Barnette, 80, died on May 4, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1941 in Darling, Mississippi. He grew up in the Delta where he was an all-sport athlete. After graduating high school, he attended Northwest Community College before serving 3 years in the US Navy. After his time in service on the USS Forest Sherman, he settled in Tunica, MS where he met the love of his life, Jacque (Fulton) and they were married on September 20, 1974. They lived in Memphis and Jackson before making their home in Pearl, MS with their two beautiful daughters, Wendy and Stacey. John loved his family, friends, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and Ole Miss sports. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Jackson, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Jettie Mae Barnette; his brothers, Charlie Barnette, Bud Barnette, Billy Barnette and his sisters, Martha Ann Horton and Bea O'Neal.
He is survived by his wife, Jacque Barnette; daughters, Wendy Barnette and Stacey Cain; sister Eva Simmons; sister in law, Gail Fulton and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 10 am to 11:30 am on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Sebrell Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held following visitation at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Code of Vets (http://paypal.me/codeofvets) in memory of John Barnette or another Veteran Program.
