Obituary for John Floyd Dickson, Jr.
John Floyd Dickson, Jr. passed away July 3, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.
John loved hunting, fishing, shooting and the outdoors. He was a Mississippi State Alumni and supporter. He was a very thoughtful person and the day before his death, he was asking about other people who were in poor health, even while he was in extreme pain himself. He was always considerate of others and his biggest flaw was he often put others ahead of himself.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Corabel Wharton Roberts Dickson and his father John Floyd Dickson, Sr.
John never married and he has no children. He is survived by one sister, Miriam Dickson Gaskell and two half sisters, Debra Dickson Bradshaw and Diane Dickson Donohoo.
At John’s request he will be cremated and buried with marker at a place he has wonderful memories.
John was and is a Christian and I truly feel he is in God’s hands. He requested his friends and cousins remember him as he was, before he was taken by cancer.
A graveside celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
