Obituary for Joe Willie Jackson
Joe Willie Jackson, age 86, died Tuesday, November 5, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
A native of Coffeeville, Mississippi, born November 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph William and Opal Lyle Jackson. Mr. Jackson retired from Armstrong World Industries following many years of service. He was a collector of many things, salvaging the old and the new. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda J. Hooper. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joanne Jackson, of Florence; children: daughter, Dawn Beard (Charles), of Florence; daughter, Christina King, of Waxahachie, TX; and son, Joel Jackson, of Madison; sister, Jeanette McDaniel (Paul), of Kosciusko, MS; brothers, Robert Jackson (Jean), of Slaughter, LA and Wayne Jackson (Addye), of Kosciusko; grandchildren: Jonathan Beard (Danielle), Bryce Stephens (Alex); and Chris Hooper (Lisa); great grandchildren: Laurin Hooper, Chelsea Hooper, and Zoey Beard; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Sebrell Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Sebrell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Ryan Culpepper officiating. Visitation an hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
