Obituary for Joe "Joey" Mack Stewart Jr.
Joey Stewart, age 54, died Thursday, June 7, 2019.
Visitation at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Clinton on Monday, June 10, begins at 9:30 a.m. prior to a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service follows immediately at Clinton Cemetery.
Joey was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where he was the recipient of the Martin Stegenga Academic Achievement Award in Management. His 30-year business career included positions at McCarty Foods, Marshall Durbin, Tyson Foods, Advanced Drainage Systems, Arrow Paper, Zee Company, DG Foods, PECO Foods, TempStaff, and Milwaukee Tool.
When he wasn’t with his beloved daughter Mary Anne, or giving his all at work, you’d find Joey talking Ole Miss football or telling tales at the hunting camp, picking up a fishing rod or gun now and then.
He is predeceased by his father Joe Stewart, Sr., his brother Tommy Stewart, two infant brothers, in-laws Patrese Stewart and Walter Mashburn, and ex-wife Denise Chapman.
Joey leaves behind his daughter, Mary Anne Stewart; mother, Betty Stewart; brother, Mike Stewart (Kay); three sisters, Marilyn Hetrick (Bill), Kathy Mashburn, and Carol Robertson (John); cousins Craig Harrell (Heather), and Bobby Harrell (Kay); 8 nieces and nephews; 8 grand-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
His big heart and generous spirit are not subdued by death. Many people will benefit from the organs he bequeathed. In lieu of flowers, his memory would be honored by a monetary donation to the American Heart Association and/or registration as an organ donor. Also, Masses in his honor may be requested at Holy Savior or any other Catholic parish.
