Obituary for JoAnn Buckley Caves
JoAnn Buckley Caves, 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at her home church First Free Will Baptist Church in Pearl with burial following in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church and will continue at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.
JoAnn was born on December 30, 1944, in Jackson, the daughter of the late R.B. Buckley and Annie Marie Harris Buckley. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she cherished spending time with her family, she enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach. JoAnn loved her church family at First Free Will Baptist Church and attending her Sunday school class. She loved the Lord and never ceased to pray for those around her. She enjoyed cooking and teaching her family how to cook. She always made sure to share the Gospel of Jesus with everyone.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Buckley and sister, Janice Stone.
Survivors include her children, Sheri Jefferis and her husband William of Brandon; Wesley Burton Pitts of Pickensville, AL; Gene Norris Pitts and his wife Tracy of Kilgore, TX; Leslie Stewart of Brandon; grandchildren, Ashley Biggs of Ft. Worth, TX; Megan Jefferis of Brandon; Harrison Jefferis of Brandon; Aiden Emerson Pitts of Pickensville, AL; Brandon Andrew Pitts of Bogalusa, LA; Dallas Gene Pitts of Bogalusa, LA; Kily Stewart of Brandon; Isaac Stewart of Brandon; Daniel (Bam-Bam) Stewart of Brandon; sister, Mary Lee Rials of Jayess, MS and brother, Steve Buckley of Clinton.
