Obituary for Jimmy Lynn Carmichael

Jimmy Lynn Carmichael, 79, died August 1, 2020 at Hospice Ministries. A family graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2020 at Magee Cemetery.

Mr. Carmichael was born on May 15, 1941 in Magee, the son of the late AB and Mary Eleanor Carmichael. A veteran, Mr. Carmichael served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the Unites States National Guard Airborne Special Forces. His unit was deployed to assist the citizens of Mississippi during the devastation of Hurricane Camille.

Mr. Carmichael was employed most of his professional career as a cost accountant with Avery Body Co & Pipers Industries, which helped him become a precision woodworker and craftsman. He enjoyed building projects for his family and also enjoyed golf and fishing.

Mr. Carmichael was a member of First United Methodist Church in Magee.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Mary Carmichael and brother, Mikey Carmichael.

Survivors include: daughter, Christye Bryant and her husband Sonny of Taylorsville; son, Chad Carmichael and his wife Tracy of Mendenhall; son, Craig Carmichael and his wife Lacey of Gulfport; grandchildren, Lyndsay McIntosh of Dallas, TX; Matthew Carmichael of Auburn, AL; Chasity Wilson of Foley, AL; brother, Terry Carmichael of Crystal Springs and many nieces and nephews,
