Obituary for Jay Dilmore
Jay W. Dilmore of Ridgeland, Mississippi went to be with His Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 82. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed life. He had a passion for his work and for being around his family. He could often be heard humming or singing a tune, as he made his way along life’s journey. After graduating from the University of Mississippi, he made a home for his family in Canton, Mississippi for many years. He enjoyed working in the field of real estate and doing appraisals. He was active in his community and church. He was a faithful Christian and was a long time member of First Baptist Church Canton, Mississippi. In addition to serving as a deacon, he taught Sunday school and kept attendance records. Even in recent years while living in Ridgeland, he continued to attend First Baptist until his health prevented it. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Dilmore, after 57 years of marriage. Also, he is survived by his son, Wylie Dilmore and his daughter, Beth Hutchinson, and three grandchildren, Jay Wylie Dilmore, Lauren Hutchinson, and Bethany Hutchinson. To God Be the Glory!
Visitation will be Monday, November 18th, 2019 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a graveside service at Canton Cemetery November 19th, 2019 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Canton and The Alzheimer’s Association.
