Obituary for Janice Leigh Kersh
Janice Leigh Kersh, 53, of Madison, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in her home following a brief battle with cancer.
Born January 14, 1966 in Jackson, she was the daughter of Dorothy Pounds Kersh and the late Robert Harold Kersh. Janice graduated with a degree in nursing. She was employed by the Baptist Hospital of Jackson during her entire nursing career.
Janice was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. She was a lover of and champion for all animals. She leaves behind Jazz and Tucker, her loving companions.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her cousins, Beth Pounds and Faye Kersh Patterson.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Kersh; her brother, Robert Harold “Bob” Kersh, Jr., both of Madison; step-brother, Daniel Lemoine, of Baton Rouge, and step-sister, Melanie Todd, of Clearwater, FL; her cousins: Thomas Pounds, Sue Pounds Guillot, Russ Pounds, Gary Pounds, Dawn Pounds Deshotel, Jim Pounds, Jeff Pounds, Troy Pounds, Bonnie Harding Doyle, Betty Harding Means, Pam Kersh, Debbie Kersh Colwell, Lynn Sistrunk Dennis, Wayne Sistrunk and Randy Sistrunk.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Rev. Cliff Hardin officiating. Interment will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland. Visitation with the family begins at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Steve Blackard, John Crimmons, Dale Guillot, Thom Harrell, Jim Pounds, Russ Pounds, and Troy Pounds.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Bell, Anthony McFarland, Daniel Lemoine, Jim Pollard, Gary Pounds, and David Prince.
