Obituary for Janette Lucille Quattlebaum Martin

Janette Lucille Quattlebaum Martin, 74, entered eternal rest Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Merit River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Brandon with interment following at Pisgah Cemetery Highway 25. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the church and will resume at 12 Noon Wednesday.


Mrs. Martin was born on July 19, 1949, in Madison County, the daughter of the late Herman and Jane Quattlebaum. A graduate of Flora High School, she retired from the Rankin County School System, where she worked in the cafeteria and drove a school bus for many years. Mrs. Martin was known for her smile, her laughter and her giving nature as well as her delicious cornbread dressing & homemade rolls.


A master of all crafts, Mrs. Martin enjoyed sewing and most recently embroidery.


She will most be remembered as a beloved mother, a cherished grandmother and great grandmother, a devoted sister and friend to many.


She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday school class.


Along with her parents, Herman and Jane Quattlebaum, she is preceded in death by her husband William Glenn Martin.


She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jackie Martin Warren and her husband Stacey of Brandon; daughter, Paula Martin Canoy and her husband Vincent of Brandon; son, Paul David Martin of Brandon; grandchildren, Hunter Warren and his wife Jenny of Brandon; McKayla Moore and her husband Michael of Brandon; Jacob Moudy and his wife Ashlyn of D’Lo; Caetlind Cole and her husband Brady of Washington, D.C.; Landen Moudy of Brandon; Spencer Martin of Wiggins; great grandchildren, Reece and Fisher Warren; Mathias and Eira Jane Moudy of D’Lo. She is also survived by brothers, Tommy Quattlebaum of Flora; Randy Quattlebaum of Flora; Kevin Quattlebaum of Flora; and sister, Johanna Bowman of Flora along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.


Memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 251 Old Hwy 43 Brandon, MS .
