Obituary for James William Millard, III.
James W. Millard, III., (Hobo) 61, died Monday, June 27, 2016. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 3 PM to 8 PM Saturday and 1:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
James was born on April 11, 1955, in Hartford, CT, and attended Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, CT. He graduated from the American Motorcycle institute (UTI) in Daytona, FL in 1996 and attended Sierra Community College on both Grass Valley and Sacramento campuses.
A naval veteran, James served on board the USS Hunley and USS Fulton where he earned a letter of commendation. . During his working years, he served as assistant manager for Halls Pond Cay Club Exumas, Bahamas. James also worked as a test rider for Harley Davidson at Talladega Test Facility, Lincoln, AL. He also worked as a welder, millwright , long haul truck driver and logger. James was an avid musician and played keyboard in several local bands. He was an active member of the Pistoleros Motorcycle Club.
James is survived by his mother, Janet C. Millard of Long Beach, MS; father, James W. Millard, Jr., of Alamo, TX; brother, Richard C. Millard (Jane) of Oak Ridge, NC; sister, Elizabeth M. Kaylor of Auburn, CA; brother, Robert M. Millard of Cornish, ME; nieces and nephews, Tyler, Matthew, Mark and Marissa Millard of Oak Ridge, NC; Pista Preema (Riley Hosea) of Portland, OR; Gryphen Kaylor of Biloxi; Cullen and Kendall Millard of Cornish, ME. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
