Obituary for James P. Book, Sr.
James P. "Jamey" Book, Sr. died on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center following a long illness. He was 62.

Born and raised in Yazoo City, he was the son of the late John Edward Book, Sr. and the late Shelby Lightcap Book. He was a graduate of Manchester Academy. He began his career in the fertilizing industry working in his family's business, Dixie Fertilizer, and then as an associate to various fertilizing companies.

Jamey loved camping, boating, the outdoors, and many wonderful times at the Home Place.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Ernest Lyles Book.

He is survived by his son, James P. “Jamey” Book, Jr.; his best friend, Susan Book; sisters, Shelby Claire Davis (Tim) and Laura Lee Day; brothers, John Edward Book, Jr. and Thomas Patrick Book (Candy); numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of Jamey’s Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
