Obituary for James Lee Wadford
James Lee Wadford passed away in his home on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. He was 85. A native of Leesburg, Mississippi and born April 10, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Emma Wiltcher Wadford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Madison County School District following 22 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for Hallmark Cleaners for over 10 years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed raising horses, and coon hunting. He loved his family and his Marlboro Lights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Stephens Wadford; and his children: Tony Wayne Wadford, Cheryl Lynn Wadford, and Terry Lee Wadford. Survivors include his grandchildren: Kimberly Paul (Mitchell), of Brandon; Christopher Wadford (Sarah), of Starkville; Jamie Wadford (Eric), of Canton; Carrie Wadford, of Oxford; Dustin Boleware, of Pearl; sisters, Janie Burns, of Ridgeland and Mary Waldrop (Lucius), of Canton; brothers, Johnny Wadford (Larue), of Brandon and Billy Wadford, of Canton; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the chapel of Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Dr. in Ridgeland, the Reverend Carol Mead, Rector, St. Peter’s By-The-Lake Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8pm Thursday evening, September 13, 2018 at Sebrell Funeral Home and on Saturday an hour prior to service.
