JAMES FRANKLIN ROBERTSON
James Franklin Robertson passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was 77.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson, born August 6, 1944, and was the son of the late Hubert Cecil Robertson Sr. and Mary Frances McEachern Robertson.
After graduation from high school he attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a degree in microbiology. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served our country, including in the US Naval Reserves, retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1994, honorably discharged following 27 years of military service.
James was a longtime laboratory technologist. He retired from the Jackson V.A. Medical Center following 25 years of dedicated service. He was a lay minister serving as pastor of Harvest Time Church of God in Canton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sherry Robertson.
He is survived by his brothers, Cecil Robertson, of Madison and Thomas R. Robertson, of Cocoa, FL; sister, Mary Robertson Fiveash (Dennis), of Hattiesburg; nieces, Lauren Wall (Bryan), Leslie Lair (Paul), and Kelsey Fiveash; nephew, Tyler Fiveash; one great niece and one great nephew.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Jackson First Church, 6339 MS Hwy 18 in Jackson, Bro. Wayne Hall, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
