Obituary for James Christopher Cooper
James Christopher Cooper, 45, died on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Hospice Ministries surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Chris was born on August 1, 1972 in Jackson, MS. A graduate of Forest Hill High School, He continued his education at Hinds Community College. Chris worked as a diesel mechanic for Durham School District in Raymond. His passion was dirt track racing with his family. Chris enjoyed doing public relations for racing and selling automotive supplies at the racetrack. He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church.
Chris is survived by his father, Gary Cooper (Dodi) of Terry; mother, Vicki Gipson; best friend and mother of his son, Michelle Jennings of Byram; son, Jeffrey Cooper (Stephany) of Gluckstadt; brothers and sisters, Angie Langston (Doug) of Harrisville; Katie Ross (Cliff) of Florence; Justin Morrow of Byram; Jennifer Monk (Donnie) of Florence; Floyd Williams (Heather) of Florence; Cliff Williams (April) of Florence; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and one future grandchild.
