Obituary for Imogene K. Medders
Imogene K. Medders, 81, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Faith Tabernacle Church in Florence with burial following in Jesus Name Tabernacle Cemetery in Richland. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Medders was born on October 11, 1936, the daughter of the late James Cooper Kuhn and Edna Gentry Kuhn. She worked for over 32 years as a CNA at St. Dominic’s, Briar Hill Nursing Home and provide nursing care to patients in their home.
A faithful Christian, she was a longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Church where she served as a Trustee. Mrs. Medders loved to cook, especially for her family, friends and pastors. She was known for her generosity, always willing to help those in need.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, V.J. Medders and sons, David Sanch and Jerry Medders.
Survivors include: Daughters, Tommie Burdine and husband Larry of Kosciusko, MS; daughter, Sharon (Ruthie) Ray of Richland; daughter, Dorothy Welch of Alabama; son, James Medders (Marla) of Florence; daughter, Kathy Bailey of Florence; 13 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
