Obituary for Henry A. Prestel
Henry A. (Bud) Prestel, 84, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Nichols Center in Madison. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, 673 Lake Cavalier Rd, Madison, MS 39110. Graveside service will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mr. Prestel was born on June 23, 1931, in Dayton, OH, the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Prestel. A veteran, he served his country in the USAF during the Korean War. A longtime resident of Jackson, Mr. Prestel retired as a postal carrier from the USPS after almost 40 years of service. Mr. Prestel enjoyed working in his yard. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren especially attending their sporting events. Mr. Prestel was known for his generosity and his caring spirit. He will be remembered by his family most as a loving husband, a supportive father, and a devoted grandfather. He was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith Prestel of Madison; son, Dennis Prestel of Brandon; son, Danny Prestel (Elizabeth) of Madison; daughter, Denise Peeples (John) of Starkville; daughter, Dottie Prestel of Jackson and 5 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Baptist Youth Group.
