Obituary for Helen Katherine Acy
Helen Acy, 89 passed away on March 8, 2018 from congestive heart failure. She was born on April 17, 1928. Helen loved to laugh and had the uncanny ability to make anyone laugh with her. Her sense of humor and her love of life brightened the day of everyone around her. She loved her family, entertaining visitors, and her dog, Flossie. Mrs. Acy's candor made any awkward situation hilarious and instantly memorable. She had a knack for which store sold someone the "home cooked" meal they brought to a pot luck dinner. Her wit was sharp to the end and it will be missed. The memories her family share will be cherished forever.Mrs. Acy was preceeded in death by her parents, Dora Jane and Claude Deason; her husband, Sam Acy; brothers, Bob, Ben, Bill and Charles Deason; Her son-in-law, Darryl. She is survived by her sisters, Peggy Sheridan, Laverne Prouty and Faye Shivers; her son, Jerry Acy and wife, Cynthia; daughters, Jeanette Allen (late husband, Darryl) and Judy Gray Green and husband, Harvey; her grandchildren, Michelle Acy Sykes (William), Tracy Gray, Carey Allen, Stephanie Acy Roan (Eric), Mandy Gray Freeman (Daniel); Great Grandchildren, Hannah Hartdegen, Haley Sykes, Alivia, Amber, Ashley, Amanda Roan, Tayler and Hayden Gardo, Charlie Blanton and Kaitlyn Freeman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 12, 2018 at Sebrell Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, burial following at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mrs Acy made be sent to The American Parkinson's Disease Association, Mississippi Chapter in honor of her late son-in-law, Darryl Allen.
