Gregory Wayne Goldman, 55, of Canton, Mississippi passed away on May 8, 2023, after a diligent fight against Leukemia, Greg succumbed to lung and kidney complications after receiving a bone marrow transplant and going into remission from Leukemia.
Gregory was born on December 17, 1967, to Durwood and Sue Goldman in Vicksburg, MS. After completing his high school studies, he went on to study Automobile Mechanics at Hinds Junior College.
Gregory started his career in the deaf community as a house parent and coach at the Mississippi School for the Deaf. The next juncture of his career was spent as an American Sign Language Interpreter at the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation where he retired. Greg also served many years as a freelance interpreter with his own business, Goldman Interpreting.
After his retirement from Vocational Rehabilitation, he loved to spend time visiting his grandchildren and watching them grow and excel in their interests.
Gregory was predeceased by his sister, Shannon Goldman Johnson. He is survived by his parents, Durwood and Sue Goldman, his sister, Sandra Edwards and husband Clayton Edwards, his son, Blake Goldman, and wife Mollie Goldman, his daughter, Brook Gordon, and husband Matt Gordon, and five beautiful grandchildren, Rylan, Kash, Aubrie, Macie, and Tripp.
Visitation will be held at Trace Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, specifically the research for Leukemia, for which Gregory and his family feel such a strong connection.
