Obituary for Gloria Taylor Rawlings
GLORIA TAYLOR RAWLINGS
Gloria Taylor Rawlings died Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 84.
Born in Washington, D.C. on June 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bradford Rawlings and Maebelle Kennedy. After graduating from Meridian High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Ned. In her early years, she worked for South Central Bell. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Co. following years of dedicated service as a federal insurance claims adjustor.
Gloria was a member and attended Broadmoor Baptist Church where she was involved in her Sunday school class. She was an avid bird watcher and loved animals.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ned Rawlings; and her brother, Bradford Taylor, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Rawlings (Sandy), of Madison, MS and Scott Rawlings (Laura), of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren: Kelly Edwards (Andrew) of Madison, MS, Alec Rawlings of Madison, MS, Sean Rawlings of Morehead City, NC, Jackson Rawlings of Fayetteville, AR, and Olivia Rawlings of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren: Addie, Elle and Bentley Claire Edwards.
There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
We are appreciative to Dr. Tammy Young and her staff for the care given to our mother and grandmother. We are also thankful for the love and support from her friends.
