Obituary for Gleva Delena Hollis
Gleva Delena Cockroft Hollis, 90, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021, peacefully in her home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 27th, at Trinity Baptist Church in Carthage, MS. with visitation from 10 am till 11am.
The service will begin at 11 am with Interment to follow in Leake Memorial Gardens. Brother Dale Rogers will officiate.
Mrs. Hollis was born on October 27, 1931, in Dossville, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Willie N. and Lessie Jowers Cockroft.
She is preceded in death by her parents Willie N. and Lessie Cockroft, husband Ruben(R T) Hollis, a son, Randal Hollis, a granddaughter, Sheena Crumbley, her brothers, Billy and John T. Cockroft and great granddaughter Josie Lennox.
Survivors include, daughter, Brenda Latham (Bobby) of Carthage MS, daughter, Gina Hollis of San Leon, TX, son, Terry Hollis (Becky) of Brandon, MS, and son , Jon T. Hollis (Sherry) of San Leon, TX. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Shannon Hollis, Christopher Latham, Brandon Latham , Jennifer Hollis, Jay Hollis (Erica), Maneka Lennox (Chris), Ashley Paul (Brad), Lauren Riviere (Anthony), and Hannah Burnham along with, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Hollis is also survived by a sister, Carla C. Hayman of Canton, MS, along
with sister-n-laws Fran Cockroft, Margaret Cockroft, Billie Phillips, Betty Kea, Sammie Russell, and brother-in-law Jimmy Hollis along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Cockroft, Todd Cockroft, Jerry Hayman, Jay Hollis, Brandon Latham, Christopher Latham, and Derrick Arnold.
Memorials may be made to Adult 1 Sunday School Class - for operations of Christmas Child in memory of Gleva Hollis. Trinity Baptist Church , 208 Oakhill Drive, Carthage, MS 39051.
