Obituary for Gerald Leon Smith
Gerald Leon Smith, “Pops” to his family, passed away April 1, 2022, in his Clinton, MS home surrounded by his loved ones. Pops was born February 5, 1951, in Jackson to Leon and Pauline Smith. He was a 1969 graduate of Provine High and a lifelong member of Parkway Baptist Church. At Parkway, Pops sang in the choir, served as a deacon, and taught Sunday school. Gerald married his high school sweetheart, Theresa, on April 6, 1969. He enjoyed spending time with family, drinking coffee, watching Mississippi State football and baseball, reading, studying horticulture and genealogy, and working in the garden. Pops will be sadly missed by his wife Theresa, daughter Lynn, son-in-law Jeff Crowe, son Taylor, daughter-in-law Cindy, son Collin, daughter-in-law Brandi, and 6 granddaughters, Allyssa Crowe McGuire (Matthew), Avery Crowe Crawford (Austin), Adyson Crowe, Sidney Claire and Mary Connor Smith, and Payge Smith. As well as his great granddaughter Maisy McGuire, and another on the way
