Obituary for George S. Jones, Jr.
George S. Jones, Jr. was born in Raymond, Mississippi on February 23, 1937. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jones on June 14, 1964. George served his country for 26 years in the US Air Force, followed by 16 years on a Department of Defense contract in Saudi Arabia, and one year as a missionary in Australia. He also served as a Deacon at Lake Harbour Drive Church of Christ in Ridgeland, Mississippi. George and Wilma lived and traveled the world and brought the Church and their faith with them everywhere they went.
George was preceded in death by his father, George S. Jones Sr., his mother Lottie Jones and his mother-in-law Mattie Daniels. George leaves to mourn him: his wife Wilma, daughter Jeanne Young (Ambrose), son Donald Jones (Kelle), sister-in-law Inez Washington, Jeanne’s children Sean, Stephanie & Sierra, and Donald’s daughter Jordan and great-granddaughter Saniyah. George is also survived by his sister Rosemary Jones, brothers Fred, Bobby and John Lord Jones, a host of nieces, nephews and many beloved friends from all corners of the world.
