Obituary for George M. Hill
George McLaurin Hill passed away on November 9th 2021 at the Veterans Hospital in Jackson MS surrounded by family. He was ninety-four years old and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Tatum Hill.
George is survived by his three children, Lauren Hill Ripley (Bob), Jane Hill Seale (Dan), and George McLaurin “Mac” Hill and his two grandchildren, Crisler Seale Herndon (Nathan), and Clay Seale (Mary). He also leaves behind four beautiful great grandchildren.
George Hill proudly served in the United States Navy in World War ll and as an Air Force pilot in the Korean War, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant in the latter conflict. He then attended the University of Mississippi, attaining his bachelor degree in accounting.
There will be a graveside service, Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Edwards, Mississippi cemetery preceded with visitation from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Saturday morning at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Drive, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157.
The family would like to extend their immense gratitude to Sheila Scott, George’s private caregiver for taking such loving care of our father for many years. We don’t know what we would have done without her.
We will lovingly remember George for his love of life, his warm smile and his great jokes.
