Obituary for George "June" Johnson, Jr.
George Johnson Jr. was born on September 9, 1953, in Lorman, Mississippi, to George and Martha Johnson. He was the third of six children born to this union and was known as “June” throughout his life. He attended Liddell High School in Fayette, MS, and graduated from PG High School in Port Gibson, MS in 1973. Following graduation, he attended Alcorn State University where he majored in Recreation. Prior to his graduation from Alcorn, he joined the US Army. He fulfilled a four-year stint in the military traveling to Germany for most of his stay. After returning home, he completed the requirements for graduation from Alcorn state acquiring his Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation. He later returned to the US Army serving a total of 18 years. He believed in God, and worshipped Christ throughout his life on earth. June (George) departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 2, 2021at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Johnson, father, George Johnson, and one sister, Elizabeth Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories, One Brother: Johnny L. Coleman, Canton, OH., Two Nephews: Jordan Howell, Canton, OH, and Patric Keenan, Denver, CO., Three Nieces: Tammy McGraw, Houston, TX, Kashun (Marvin) Parks, Harrison, TN, and Cheryl (Charles) Olden, Denver, Co., and a Host of Special Cousins, Relatives and Friends.
